The title alone caught my attention.
by Jenny Holzer (Editor), Louise Bourgeois (Contributor) (contains Amazon affiliate link)
Full of reds, and compilation of texts, the book had so much to offer in content. Below is an excerpt of the forward about the exhibition/book:
“…we gain a new and unexpected perspective on Bourgeois’ oeuvre through Holder’s eyes.” The Kunstmuseum Basel gave Holzer carte blanche to “realize this unique exhibition and artist’s book.”
“Language is central to the work of both artists. Holzer has been known worldwide since the early 1980s for her subversive and provocative use of texts in public spaces and later in exhibition spaces as well.”
“For the exhibition, Holzer has selected from the full range of social media in which Bourgeois worked to create thematically focused groupings in the nine galleries on thee second floor of the Kunstmuseum Basel’s Neubau. In this display, she forgoes chronological presentation in favor of an intuitive and poetic logic. Each room stands on its own, with its own distinct identity; and yet together they galleries give rise to a densely layered narrative about memory, the five senses, landscape, the unconscious, sexuality, motherhood, trauma, and creativity.” (6 of pamphlet)
